Celebrate Living - tips for a happy life

Love to you all on this terrific day!

Hugging Is Good For You Try It And See!

Hugging No1

Did you give or receive a Hug today?  Experts say that “four hugs a day keep the doctor away”.  Let’s see … Life’s essentials are:  air, food, water, Hugging, clothing and shelter.

Hugging Family

Hugging is natural, organic, without pesticides and having no preservatives — 100% wholesome.  It’s healthy because it helps the body’s immune system, reduces stress and has no unpleasant side effects.  Hugging is a miracle drug!

Hugging Monkeys

Adults love to hug babies and do so often.  Adults love to hug adults too, but seldom do.  A hug is a hug, and people must stop thinking about hugging as a means to an end.  Hugging is a loving end in itself.

Black Couple Hugging

Hugging is practically perfect, because it has no moveable parts, no batteries to wear out, needs no checkups, and has low energy consumption and high-energy yield.  It’s inflation proof, non-fattening, requires no monthly repayments, no insurance, it’s theft proof, non taxable, non polluting and fully refundable.

Cats Hugging

Hugs are free.  Maybe that’s why so many people take them for granted.  If hugs were costly, people would probably knock themselves out to make money to buy hugs.

But even though hugs are free, hugs are not worth anything if they are not used, and a hug not used is lost forever.

Experts will tell you that they approve of hugging because it is therapeutic, calming and has a pleasant effect.  What they mean is … it feels good.

Elderly CoupleHere is a recipe for a perfect Hug:

Ingredients:

Two people         a touch of love
Four arms           a pinch of humour
Two hearts          a sprinkle of glee

Method:

Extend arms and wrap them around each other.  Clear your minds, take a good look at each other.  Then pull yourselves together and mix well.  Serves two.

Come on … have a hug; hug your partner, hug your friend, hug your pets and hug

your Teddy Little Girl Teddy Bear and remember…

Sometimes you need a hug when your feeling down, it can even take away a frown.

Polar Bears Hugging

If you would like to send someone an e-mail Hug to encourage them then do so with Love — if not then you can always show you Care in another way.

Fawlty Towers - Classic Scenes

The insane manic slapstick briliance of John Cleese as Basil Fawlty with a host of crazy co-workers making a mess of everything, makes this one of the classic shows of all time. Wonderful actors in this classic British Comedy TV Series.

The many uses for WD-40

This new segment represents break from tradition in that it may not always be funny. But we thought that some things are just worth knowing! So if you can use these little packages to better your life then wonderful. Here goes!

WD-40. We’ve all used it for starting a wet carburettor or lubricating your bike wheels but did you know all its other uses? Over 2000! - Check out their website here.

WD-40 Well, Who Knew…?I had a neighbour who had bought a new pickup. I got up very early one Sunday morning and saw that someone had spray painted red all around the sides of this beige truck (for some unknown reason).
I went over, woke him up, and told him the bad news. He was very upset and was trying to figure out what to do probably nothing until Monday morning, since nothing was open.
Another neighbour came out and told him to get his WD-40 and clean it off. It removed the unwanted paint beautifully and did not harm his paint job that was on the truck. I’m impressed! WD-40 who knew?

Water Displacement #40.

The product began from a search for a rust preventative solvent and degreaser to protect missile parts. WD-40 was created in 1953 by three technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company. Its name comes from the project that was to find a “water displacement” compound. They were successful with the fortieth formulation, thus WD-40.The Corvair Company bought it in bulk to protect their atlas missile parts.

Ken East (one of the original founders) says there is nothing in WD-40 that would hurt you. When you read the “shower door” part, try it. It’s the first thing that has ever cleaned that spotty shower door. If yours is plastic, it works just as well as glass. It’s a miracle! Then try it on your stovetop… Voila! It’s now shinier than it’s ever been. You’ll be amazed.

Here are some of the uses:
1) Protects silver from tarnishing.
2) Removes road tar and grime from cars.
3) Cleans and lubricates guitar strings.
4) Gives floors that ‘just-waxed’ sheen without making it slippery.
5) Keeps flies off cows.
6) Restores and cleans chalkboards.
7) Removes lipstick stains.
8) Loosens stubborn zippers.
9) Untangles jewellery chains.
10) Removes stains from stainless steel sinks.
11) Removes dirt and grime from the barbecue grill.
12) Keeps ceramic/terra cotta garden pots from oxidizing.
13) Removes tomato stains from clothing.
14) Keeps glass shower doors free of water spots.
15) Camouflages scratches in ceramic and marble floors.
16) Keeps scissors working smoothly.
17) Lubricates noisy door hinges on vehicles and doors in homes
18) It removes black scuff marks from the kitchen floor! Use WD-40 for those nasty tar and scuff marks on flooring. It doesn’t seem to harm the finish and you won’t have to scrub nearly as hard to get them off. Just remember to open some windows if you have a lot of marks.
19) Bug guts will eat away the finish on your car if not removed quickly! Use WD-40!
20) Gives a children’s play gym slide a shine for a super fast slide.
21) Lubricates gear shift and mower deck lever for ease of handling on riding mowers.
22) Rids kids rocking chairs and swings of squeaky noises.
23) Lubricates tracks in sticking home windows and makes them easier to open.
24) Spraying an umbrella stem makes it easier to open and close.
25) Restores and cleans padded leather dashboards in vehicles, as well as vinyl bumpers.
26) Restores and cleans roof racks on vehicles.
27) Lubricates and stops squeaks in electric fans.
28) Lubricates wheel sprockets on tricycles, wagons, and bicycles for easy handling.
29) Lubricates fan belts on washers and dryers and keeps them running smoothly.
30) Keeps rust from forming on saws and saw blades, and other tools.
31) Removes splattered grease on stove.
32) Keeps bathroom mirror from fogging.
33) Lubricates prosthetic limbs.
34) Keeps pigeons off the balcony (they hate the smell).
35) Removes all traces of duct tape.
36) Folks even spray it on their arms, hands, and knees to relieve arthritis pain.
37) Florida’s favourite use is: “cleans and removes love bugs from grills and bumpers.”
38) The favourite use in the state of New York WD-40 protects the Statue of Liberty from the elements.
39) WD-40 attracts fish. Spray a LITTLE on live bait or lures and you will be catching the big one in no time. Also, it’s a lot cheaper than the chemical attractants that are made for just that purpose. Keep in mind though, using some chemical laced baits or lures for fishing are not allowed in some states.
40) Use it for fire ant bites. It takes the sting away immediately and stops the itch.
41) WD-40 is great for removing crayon from walls. Spray on the mark and wipe with a clean rag.
42) Also, if you’ve discovered that your teenage daughter has washed and dried a tube of lipstick with a load of laundry, saturate the lipstick spots with WD-40 and re-wash. Presto! Lipstick is gone!
43) If you sprayed WD-40 on the distributor cap, it would displace the moisture and allow the car to start. P. S.

Giving up wine - a funny short story

Grapes and Wine

I was walking down the street when I was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless woman who asked me for a couple of
dollars for dinner.I took out my wallet, got out ten dollars and asked, “If I give you this money, will you buy wine with it instead of dinner?”
“No, I had to stop drinking years ago,” the homeless woman told me.

“Will you use it to go shopping instead of buying food?” I asked.
“No, I don’t waste time shopping,” the homeless woman said. “I need to

spend all my time trying to stay alive.”

“Will you spend this on a beauty salon instead of food?” I asked.
“Are you NUTS!!” replied the homeless woman. “I haven’t had my hair
done in 20 years!”

“Well,” I said, “I’m not going to give you the money. Instead, I’m going to take you out for dinner with myhusband and me tonight.” The homeless woman was shocked. “Won’t your husband be furious with
you for doing that? I know I’m dirty, and I probably smell pretty
disgusting.”

I said, “That’s okay. It’s important for him to see what a woman looks

like after she has given up shopping, hair appointments, and wine.”

Old Lady

I just know you’re laughing!
You’re gonna send it on - aren’t you?

Why we need to laugh more

Because it’s a form of self medication.
Because WE CAN … Laughter is a flat out CHOICE.
Because it energises our mind to be creative.
Because it alters the brain neuron chemistry.
Because it increases the hormones that make us feel good – such as ……dopamine and serotonin.
Because it’s convenient.
Because it’s safe.
Because it’s easy to access.
Because there’s no cost.
Because it’s fat free.
Because it burns kilo gules.
Because there’s no cholesterol.
Because you need no elaborate equipment.
Because it can be used anywhere for any reason, almost.
Because there are few, if any, side effects
Because it’s healing to the brain and body.

Dr. Leroy Berk who researches the benefits of laughter…..from California USA……..says…………………..

Laughter is like arobice exercise…….
20 seconds of aerobic laughter gives the body a work-out equivalent to 3 minutes. of hard rowing in terms of giving the heart a work-out”.

LAUGHTER is a bit like changing a babies nappy.

“It may not be permanent, but It sure makes things a whole lot better for a while”

Sending you Encouragement

To my dear associates, friends and families,

I’d like to share a really cool website with you. I stumbled across it a week ago and the concept inspired me to forward it to you because I think you’ll appreciate its simplicity and meaning.

It’s called The Encouragement Foundation and it was launched this month (www.theencouragementfoundation.com.au). Its purpose is to do just that, encourage people. The simple concept is that you receive encouragement from them, together you encourage others through you and excite people about furthering their life long learning skills.Apparently since going live just two weeks ago, The Encouragement Foundation website has received more than 3,000 hits and the momentum is building fast across the world.

Now, I’m the first to admit, a little bit of encouragement goes a long way for me, I love being encouraged by others. I signed up to the site and each month, I am sent an email prompter with ideas on how to encourage someone. It’s that simple.

Like me however, you might be thinking ‘I encourage people all the time, I don’t need to be reminded’. The reality is, we can all fall into the rut of the daily grind and forget to focus on others around us that might need a few words of encouragement … it could potentially make their day!

On that note, I ENCOURAGE you to check out the site and I’ll leave you with this quote:

‘This isn’t a dummy run or a dress rehearsal. You will never repeat this precious moment. This is the real thing! Grab this moment and use it to make a difference to the lives of others.’ Anon

Thank you for your support. My life is better for having you in it. Have an unbelievable day and keep kicking the milestones.

Cheers,
Susan Brown

Violent Oprah Spoof - Remember the Tom Cruise couch thing??

American talk shows. They can be pretty insightful but also so inane and like a circus. Case in point, the Tom Cruise couch incident. This little skit shows us how extreme all this could be…. [Viewer discretion advised! - ha ha]

Questions you just can’t answer - Ponder this!

A few things to ponder…

Why doesn’t Tarzan have a beard?

Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are
flat?

Why do banks charge a fee on ‘insufficient funds’ when they know there is
not enough?

Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?

Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars, but
check when you say the paint is wet?

Whose idea was it to put an ‘S’ in the word ‘lisp’?

What is the speed of darkness?

Why is it that people say they ’slept like a baby’ when babies wake up every
two hours?

Are there specially reserved parking spaces for ‘normal’ people at the
Special Olympics?

If the temperature is zero outside today and it’s going to be twice as cold
tomorrow, how cold will it be?

Do married people live longer than single ones or does it only seem longer?

How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a
good idea to put wheels on luggage?

Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars
to look at things on the ground?

Did you ever stop and wonder……

Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, ‘I think I’ll squeeze
these pink dangly things here, and drink whatever comes out?’

Who was the first person to say, ‘See that chicken there… I’m gonna eat
the next thing that comes outta it’s bum.’

Why do toasters always have a setting so high that could burn the toast to a
horrible crisp, which no decent human being would eat?

Why is there a light in the fridge and not in the freezer?

Why do people point to their wrist when asking for the time, but don’t point
to their bum when they ask where the bathroom is?

Why does your Obstetrician, Gynaecologist leave the room when you get
undressed if they are going to look up there anyway?

Why does Goofy stand erect while Pluto remains on all fours? They’re both
dogs !

If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?

If corn oil is made from corn, and vegetable oil is made from vegetables,
then what is baby oil made from?

If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons?

Why do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same
tune?

Stop singing and read on…….

Do illiterate people get the full effect of Alphabet Soup?

Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog’s face, he gets mad at you,
but when you take him on a car ride, he sticks his head out the window?

Does pushing the elevator button more than once make it arrive faster?

Do you ever wonder why you gave me your e-mail address in the first place?

Pass this on to a friend and help them to laugh too!
